I planted some seeds of Nectarine seeds in my backyard in 2003. This year, early spring, this tree blossomed & about 22 fruits formed. I took pics of these at varying stages. The fruit is of good size & has acquired lovely red colour. I hope the fruit will taste as good as it looks. If it does I will graft cuttings on some local peach trees to propagate this fruit. Anyone else growing this may exchange notes on the subject of griwing Nectarines.

This year because of the changed weather conditions, the crop of fruits all over Uttarakhand has been poor. In any case my Nectarine tree blossomed profusely but all but a score shed. The fruit remained small & was infested with insects. I have passed on the fruit to the local Horticulture Department to find out what went wrong & what needs to be done for the next season. Meanwhile I am planning to heavy prune the tree graft fresh scions from the same tree. I have already saved one scion on a plum, on which I successfully grafted last winter.
